The sixth annual RISIG summit (iRIS-2026) will be held at the historic University of Glasgow. Founded in 1451, it is the fourth oldest university in the UK. iRIS-2026 will be held 14-17 April 2026. The draft program is now available - follow the link on the right of the page to view it.
On the first day, 14 April, we will be hosting the first of a series of workshops that will continue throughout the event to generate a group-authored paper on the topic of community guidelines for the the application of AI/ML to CT image segmentation. Part of the group will evaluate different models and their applicability against a set of sample data. The goal is to develop best practices in this area that can be shared openly, along with example data and shared AI/ML models.
Over the remaining days, 15-17 April, we will feature three keynote presentations, sixteen technical talks and seven poster presentations. Topics cover subjects as diverse as cone structures in PGE ore, porescale imaging of CO2, automated mineralogy for geo-energy, micro-CT based assessment of formation damage, the use of micro-XRF as analternative to SEM, Digital Rock Analysis and more. See the program for details.
There will be a small table-top exhibition in the lunch and coffee-break area. A few places remain so contact us to reserve a space.
Come join us in Glasgow! Mingle with rock imaging experts from academia and industry. Hear about the latest advances. Be part of this thriving community.
We deeply appreciate the guidance of our wonderful iRIS-2026 Advisory Committee chaired by Alan Butcher:
